Blueprints, raid evidence tie Defensor to Pasig trafficking hub, NBI says

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will file on Friday a human trafficking complaint against former lawmaker Mike Defensor, linking him to a Pasig City KTV bar and hotel allegedly designed for sexual exploitation.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the complaint will be lodged before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office following findings that the Chicago KTV Bar and Bleu Hotel operated as a “unified trafficking infrastructure.”

Matibag presented building blueprints showing secret passages and altered fire exits allegedly used to facilitate trafficking.

“It appears that Mike Defensor was indeed involved in this matter,” he said, stressing that the redesign of the compound was deliberate.

Defensor has denied the allegations, calling them “politically motivated.” The bureau earlier filed charges against his wife Julie Rose Defensor and son Miguel Gabriel Defensor, listed as registered owners of the establishment.

The NBI will also pursue complaints against other officials, including Defensor’s child who served as corporate secretary, and lodge a separate solicitation case against Lawrence Tan, president of Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.

The case stems from the April 21 raid on the Pasig KTV bar, where authorities rescued 54 women believed to be victims of trafficking. # (ZIA LUNA)
