Revillame launches free minibus rides amid fuel price surge

TV host Willie Revillame announced that he and his friends have purchased six minibuses to provide free transportation to commuters as fuel prices continue to rise due to the conflict in the Middle East.

Revillame revealed the initiative during his game show Wilyonaryo, saying the vehicles, marked with “Wilyonaryo Libreng Sakay” stickers, will operate along major routes during rush hours, including Monumento in Caloocan, SM North EDSA in Quezon City, Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong, and Mall of Asia in Pasay.

He added that he personally coordinated with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to secure permits, noting that the minibuses will use bus lanes.

Each unit can carry about 21 to 23 passengers, with Revillame covering fuel and driver costs.

“This is the program’s way of helping our fellow Filipinos,” he said.

Revillame joins other showbiz personalities extending aid amid rising fuel prices. Actor Donny Pangilinan and his father Anthony earlier lowered diesel prices at their family-owned station to support affected communities. # (ZIA LUNA)
