The nationalist alliance Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) has warned of widespread mass protests from November 16 to 17 to coincide with the scheduled visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to the country.

In a recently released infographic, the progressive umbrella organization called on the public to echo the sentiment of American voters who rejected Trump in their elections, urging Filipinos to firmly register their opposition to his arrival.

The primary objective of the upcoming demonstrations is to counter what the group labels the “Pax Silica Framework Agreement.” Although the United States government has denied that any such agreement will be signed during Trump’s visit, BAYAN dismissed the clarification, stating that the public should remain vigilant against the pronouncements of foreign powers.

BAYAN emphasized that communities in the United States opposing AI data centers share a common struggle with Filipinos defending their land and natural resources against corporate tech exploitation.

The organization strongly condemned President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., accusing the administration of compromising national sovereignty and prioritizing foreign economic interests over the welfare of the Filipino people.

Pledging an unyielding campaign to halt the Pax Silica initiatives, the group confirmed that a ceremonial burning of Trump’s effigy will be held in Manila as a symbolic protest against foreign intervention.

With one week remaining before the scheduled mobilizations, the group is rallying various sectors under the central slogan: “Pilipinas laban sa Pax Silica at Trump.” # (RRN)
