Character actress Aleck Bovick surprised everyone when she revealed her true gender identity.
It came as a surprise because she started as a sexy actress.
In a recent guesting in Lutong Bahay hosted by Mikee Quintos, Aleck confessed that she’s now a part of the LGBT community.
“Bata pa lang kasi ako meron na ‘kong napi-feel, napapansin sa sarili ko pero ‘di ko siya pinansin, in-entertain, tuloy-tuloy lang. The way ako kumilos, the way ako pumorma, the way ako magsalita,” Aleck said.
Aleck revealed she began discovering her true identity after she turned 39 years old.
She started to realize before turning 40 that she was incomplete and something was missing in her life.
“Hindi ko alam ano ‘yun, so para kang hinahanap mo, anong mali, parang may kulang, tapos ayun na. ‘Yun na,” she said.
When asked if she’s now in a relationship, Aleck said: “Yes, nasa LGBT world tayo ngayon.”
Aleck initially felt discomfort in accepting the truth about her gender identity.
“Nu’ng una, yes. Totoo ba? Tanda ko na ha, ano na lang sasabihin nila? Paano ‘yung ganito, totoo ba ‘to, mako-confirm ko ba sa sarili ko? Tapos parang sabi ko, ‘Eh kiber. Kung ganito talaga ako, kailangan ‘kong tanggapin, kailangan ko siyang i-accept,'” Aleck said.
“You deserve it. I think after everything that you went through, it’s about time na kayo naman ang masaya, na ma-feel niyo naman ‘yung love na binibigay niyo sa iba,” Mikee said.
“Hindi ka naman selfish kapag pinili mo rin namang mahalin ‘yung sarili mo,” Aleck retorted.
In the said said interview, Aleck articulated that aside from being an actress, she also wants to become a soldier. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
