Paolo Contis gave a “no comment” answer when queried about the status of his relationship with Yen Santos during the mediacon of his movie Fushia Libre.
Muted conversations of late dwell on the couple’s rumored breakup as Yen deleted her birthday greetings to the actor.
Paolo found himself explaining his “no comment” answer during his interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda for Fast Talk.
For Paolo, answering personal questions is not part of him being an actor.
“I think dumating na kasi tayo sa point na feeling ko, people think na we owe it to everyone to share what’s happening to you and I don’t believe it’s part of my acting craft anymore. Habang nagse-share ka nang nagse-share aay lalo kang pakikialaman,” he explained.
“I think it’s time na ‘yung mga pribadong bagay, ‘yung mga walang kinalaman sa pag-arte mo o sa craft mo bilang artista, itira mo na ‘yun para sa sarili mo,” Paolo added.
When asked what’s private to him, he said: “I think anything that doesn’t have anything to do with my acting. I mean, I’m an actor, ang pinaka- responsibilidad ko is to my co-actors, to GMA, to my bosses, na maging matino akong katrabaho, na maging matino ang trabaho ko. Anything na labas dun, like my family, or anything na hindi na kasama sa pag-arte ko, I think that’s private.”
So, what bothers him?
Anything they say about my family, yes, nakakaapekto sa akin ‘yun. Anything about me, ang plastic ko kung sabihin kong walang-wala. Pero ako kasi I make sure na sa 100 na bashing, may isang positive diyan. I concentrate on the positive. Naniniwala ako na kapag may isang naniniwala sa iyo ay okay ka pa. Sa sobrang daming negativity sa mundo hindi mo puwedeng isipin lahat ‘yun, eh,” he explained. (Nigel Chavez de Estrada)
