Believing that social media has become a repository of fake news,  Alden Richards warned his adoring public not to believe all statements attributed to him.

Richards was asked about his reaction in a tweet supposedly made by him which was about his reaction to the Daniel Padilla-Kathryn Bernardo breakup.

Richards was quoted to have said:“Kathryn gave her love and trust to you pati na ang future n’ya for how many years pero niloloko mo lang pala.
Initially, the actor’s father, Richard Faulkerson, reacted to the fake news.

Richards was asked about the issue by Aubrey Carampel for 24 Oras during the recently-concluded 52nd Box Office Entertainment Awards where he was named Box Office King.

Richards warned his adoring public not to believe everything they read on social media.

Mag-fact check muna tayo bago mag-call ng judgment,” he added. (Nigel Chavez de Estrada)
