Ruffa and Herbert found each other at the right time

RUFFA Gutierrez sure knows how to chart her own timeline.

Coinciding with her golden year was the actress’ revelation that she and Herbert Bautista are now in their four-year relationship. This she had  managed to keep hush-hush albeit the public was no longer caught by surprise (irony of ironies, her mom Annabelle Rama was).

The romance all began when they did House Arrest of Us.

Since then, there had already been tell-tale signs love hovered in the air.

It was when Ruffa had gone back to school in pursuit of a communications course at the PWU upon Herbert’s proddings. In no time did Ruffa obtain her master’s degree from the same university.

Ruffa owes her renewed academic interest to Herbert who’d stop by her house with food and–strangely–books.

The actress could only look back on their first date with girlish fondness around Christmastime.

Herbert–eagerly wanting to blend in with Ruffa’s family–insisted that she tag along her daughters (by erstwhile Turkish husband Ylmaz Bektas) Lorin and Venice.

Instantly, it earned Herbert “pogi points” from Ruffa’s loved ones.

It was then followed by a series of events in Ruffa’s personal life where Herbert became a ubiquitous fixture.

To have kept the romance under the rug for years is not the usual stuff this side side of the world.

Ruffa though has successfully done so, believing in the fact that “a quiet relationship leads to more happiness.”

Herbert seems to be a stickler as well as to this practice.

The more publicized a showbiz relationship is, the more susceptible it becomes to intrigues meant to destroy it.

Ruffa and Herbert may well be compared to two peas in a pod.

Both have found each other at the right time.

Here’s wishing both of them more years of “quiet yet happy” romance.

At least, Annabelle–the “ever-intrusive” mom who gets in the way of Ruffa’s lovelife–now has every reason to back off.
