Workers on strike at Kowloon House restaurant and commissary have issued an open letter to franchisees, apologizing for the disruption in production and appealing for understanding and solidarity.

โ€œNawaโ€™y maunawaan niyo ang aming pinanggagalingan, dahil pare-pareho tayong nagsusumikap na buhayin ang ating mga pamilya at pasiyahin ang ating mga minamahal na customer,โ€ the striking workers said in their letter, released through the Genuine Labor Organization of Workers in Hotel, Restaurant, and Allied Industries โ€“ Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU).

The workers explained that they were compelled to strike due to alleged violations of their rights by the Ng family, owners of Kowloon House.

Habang ang mga anak ni Michael Ng ay nagpapasasa sa magarbong buhay, kaming lumilikha ng yaman ay isang kahig isang tuka,โ€ they said.

In a separate post on KMUโ€™s Facebook page, the group underscored the disparity between Kowloonโ€™s daily profits and the workersโ€™ wage demands:

The post added that profits are even higher when sales of noodles and other products are included.

โ€ย  # (ZIA LUNA)
