Sofronio Vasquez to receive P5.8 million and  Universal Music Group recording contract

Winning as The Voice USA grand champion, Sofronio Vasquez has received $100,000 cash prize which is equivalent to 5.8 million in Philippine peso.

Moreover, he will also receive a recording contract with Universal Music Group.

“Your mentorship is a gift—not just to me but to my family and every dreamer chasing big things,” Sofronio told his coach Michael Bublé minutes before he was proclaimed grand winner.

“What a wild, unbelievable journey it’s been to stand here with you,” Michael responded.

Sofronio initially scored triumph during the blind auditions when he interpreted Mary J. Blige’s  I’m Going Down which made all four coaches—Snoop Dogg, Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, and Gwen Stefani ‘ turn their chairs for him.

Sofronio chose Michael to be his coach and sailed through the competition with impeccable performances like his performance of Elvis Presley’s If I Can Dream and Roy Orbison’s Crying which earned him standing ovations.

Sofronio is an alumnus of It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan, a segment for aspiring singers.  From his province, he relocated to Utica in the US in 2022. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
