Marcos Jr. Appoints Limlingan as New SSS Chief

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed finance and investment veteran Victor Alfonso A. Limlingan as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Social Security System (SSS).

Limlingan takes over from Robert Joseph Montes de Claro, who has been named Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

As SSS chief, Limlingan is expected to focus on expanding member loan programs, boosting risk-adjusted returns of the pension fund’s investment portfolio, and relaunching the Pension Booster Program.

Limlingan previously served as a Commissioner of the Social Security Commission (SSC), representing the employers’ group. He chaired the SSC’s Risk Management and Actuary Committee and sat on several key committees, including Investment, Contribution and Collection, and Corporate Governance.

With extensive experience in finance and public service, Limlingan is currently managing director of Regina Capital Development Corp. and has held leadership roles at the Development Bank of the Philippines and Small Business Corp.

He also provided consultancy services to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.

Limlingan holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and earned his undergraduate degree in interdisciplinary studies from the Ateneo de Manila University. # (ZIA LUNA)
