The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good has been identified as Jonathan E. Ross, 43, an Iraq veteran and Enforcement and Removal Operations officer, according to the Daily Mail.

Ross, who has lived outside Minneapolis since 2015, is married to Patrixia Aguinaldo Ross, 38, whose parents are doctors in the Philippines. The couple married in 2012 and have two children.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Ross’s father defended his son: “She hit him. He also had an officer whose arm was in the car. He will not be charged with anything. You would never find a nicer, kinder person. He’s a committed, conservative Christian, a tremendous father, a tremendous husband. I couldn’t be more proud of him.”

The incident stemmed from Ross shooting Good while she was driving her SUV on a street where ICE agents were conducting operations. ICE claimed Good tried to use her vehicle as a weapon, but witnesses disputed the account. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called ICE’s version “bulls**t.”

Video footage showed Good blocking the road with her SUV before reversing; three gunshots rang out as an agent tried to open the driver-side door. The SUV then crashed into parked cars and a pole, with a bullet hole visible in the windshield.

The Trump administration defended Ross, while Minneapolis officials called the incident “murder.” Local leaders demanded ICE leave Minnesota, but Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem insisted agents would remain.

Good and her wife Rebecca, who have a six-year-old child, had fled to Canada after Trump’s 2024 election victory before resettling in Minneapolis.

Protests erupted across the United States demanding justice for Good’s killing. (ZIA LUNA)
