Health Workers Partylist applauds accreditation

Finally, Health Workers PartyList can run in the 2025 National Elections!

The Commission on Elections today, September 23, 2024, granted the Motion for Reconsideration on the registration of Health Workers PartyList. The Motion was filed on August 27, 2024 after COMELEC issued the initial dismissal of the petition for registration on August 22, 2024 due to a minor technical issue of differentiating between a sectoral party and a sectoral organization.

COMELEC declared that “Considering the various issues affecting health workers and the need for their representation in the legislature, the denial of registration of the Petitioner will minimize, if not, divest the health workers’ chance of representation.” (COMELEC Resolution dated September 23, 2024)

This is a very positive development for the health workers. Our organized efforts have paid off. We have proven once again that organized actions lead us to victory.

The strength of health workers united has been proven time and again through decades of struggle. Our persistent organized actions have led us to the passage of the Magna Carta of Public Health Workers, a successful campaign against the privatization of public hospitals, a campaign for Salary Grade 15 entry salary for nurses, and the release, albeit delayed, of mandated pandemic benefits.

With the first hurdle passed, health workers now have the opportunity to reach out to the electorate and explain our platform for the health workers and people’s health.

The bigger challenge for Health Workers PartyList now lies in reaching out to as many health workers, health advocates, and voters to gather the needed minimum vote of 2% of the total partylist votes cast to have a seat in the House of Representatives. We have no goons, guns, and gold, but we have our principles and platform, our unity, and our unlimited commitment to serve the people. And equally important, we have to guard against electoral fraud and attacks.

With the health workers and the Filipino people we serve on our side, we are positive that we will prevail. (Health Workers PartyList | Facebook
