Four criminal cases may reportedly be filed against Atty. Levito Baligod after four former bodyguards of ex-Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co recanted their earlier allegations, saying the lawyer orchestrated and promised large sums in exchange for their claims of delivering suitcases of cash to politicians.
“Mga pwede ikaso laban kay Levi Baligod at 18 Maleta Boys after 5 of them retracted their earlier accusations: 1. Perjury 2. Incriminating Innocent Persons 3. Intriguing Against Honor,” political analyst and TV host Jesus Falcis said in a Facebook post.
He added that Baligod could also face disbarment.
The four “Maleta Boys” who withdrew their statements also named former Rep. Mike Defensor and Sen. Rodante Marcoleta as figures who assured them of legal and political support.
One of them, Rosebert Waupan, was quoted by Falcis: “Maleta Boy Rosebert Waupan: “Pinangakuan kami ni Atty. Levi Baligod ng malalaking halaga pag matagumpay ang scam at si Cong Defensor at Sen Marcoleta ang magsisiguro ng lahat.” # (RRN)
