Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon announced Wednesday that the Office of the Ombudsman will file criminal cases against “big personalities” allegedly involved in the Bulacan flood control scandal.
Dizon, speaking after an inspection of Matalahib Creek with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and Dr. Mahar Lagmay of UPRI-NOAH, said the cases will be lodged Thursday at the Malolos Regional Trial Court.
“Mayroon pang mga padating na kaso. In fact tomorrow mayroon ulit ipa-file sa Bulacan naman. Hintayin niyo na lang kung sino. Malaking isda rin,” Dizon told reporters, hinting at the stature of the respondents.
Referring to the alleged anomalies, he added: “Sana matuto na sila at matakot na sila kasi talagang hindi titigil si [President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.] na ipakulong ‘yung mga dapat ipakulong.”
The secretary declined to name the individuals but stressed that they are high-profile figures from Bulacan. # (ZIA LUNA)
