‘Di Tayo Pasisiil! — DND Defies Embassy’s Misinformation

The Department of National Defense (DND) on Sunday rejected the Chinese Embassy’s claim that Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro was targeting Chinese nationals, calling the statement “disingenuous misinformation.”

Authorities earlier arrested 69 Chinese workers of Sanjia Steel Corp. in Misamis Oriental for alleged violations of immigration and environmental laws.

The Embassy accused the Philippines of selectively targeting foreign workers while allowing Filipinos to go free, branding Teodoro’s actions as anti-China.

Defense spokesperson Arsenio Andolong dismissed the Embassy’s remarks, saying they were evasive and misleading.

“The Chinese Embassy’s response does not contain any answers. Instead, it is full of questions and rhetoric. This is a classic example of evasiveness and a badge of deception. This is, in legal practice, an implied admission of culpability,” Andolong said. # (ZIA LUNA)
