‘CEASEFIRE MY FOOT’

Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Thursday rejected what he described as a “ceasefire” offer following his exposé on alleged anomalies in flood control projects in Taguig City.

“Ceasefire my foot! Anong uri ng tao ang magde-declare ng giyera, toy gun ang dala, at laway ang bala; pag na-confront ng bomba, magre-request ng ceasefire, pabulong pa?” Lacson posted on X.

He called the move “hypocrisy aimed at buying time to recover and reconsolidate for his next sneaky move,” without naming who made the offer.

Days earlier, Lacson’s office submitted documentary and testimonial evidence to the Ombudsman, citing double billing and unfinished projects.

He linked the findings to Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, who denied ghost projects in Taguig and urged probes in other Metro Manila cities.

Lacson vowed to present “delicious” details at the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearings, accusing Cayetano of securing ₱6.79 billion in budget insertions.

He said more witnesses and evidence were being gathered to prove Cayetano’s involvement.  # (ZIA LUNA)
