President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called a foreign vlogger “crazy” for disrespecting Filipinos in a viral social media post, calling the latter’s action “infuriating” and vowing that such behavior will not be tolerated.
In his latest vlog uploaded on YouTube, Marcos slammed Vitaly Zdorovetskiy after the content creator’s viral videos of harassing Filipinos, such as one where he threatened a woman in a robbery, led to his arrest.
“Sira ulo rin ito,” Marcos said as he expressed dismay over the incident.
“Biro man ito o hindi, sino ba namang Pilipino ang hindi kukulo ang dugo sa napapanood natin?” Marcos added.
He warned that the government would take action against those who mock or harass Filipinos for online engagement.
Supporting the President’s stance, Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Jonvic Remulla said that foreign nationals who disrespect Filipinos will face consequences.
Marcos urged the public to stand against bullying, assuring that the government would intervene to hold offenders accountable. “Dapat tayong pumalag sa mga bully, kasama ninyo ang pamahalaan para ilugar ang ganitong mga tao,” he said.
Zdorovetskiy, infamous for his provocative prank content, was taken into custody by Philippine officials on April 3 following disturbing livestreams in which he targeted residents in Bonifacio Global City and other locations.
His videos, which sparked public outrage, included threats to rob a woman, an attempt to steal an electric fan from a restaurant, and abandoning a tricycle he had commandeered from the street.
The Bureau of Immigration has labeled Zdorovetskiy an “undesirable alien,” and he is now confronting legal charges such as unjust vexation, alarm and scandal, and attempted theft. (TCSP)
