Newly appointed Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon has instructed all undersecretaries, assistant secretaries, and directors within the department to submit their courtesy resignations by February 26, 2025.
In a memorandum, Dizon clarified that this action is intended to give him the freedom to fulfill the mandate entrusted to him by President Ferdinand âBongbongâ Marcos Jr.
While awaiting decisions regarding their resignations, officials are required to continue fulfilling their duties until Dizon announces any changes.
Meanwhile, the performance of the current officials is being evaluated by Presidential Communications Office (PCO) head Jay Ruiz.
According to PCO Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, Ruiz indicated that there will be a reshuffle within the department, but she has no information on whether the officials have also been asked to submit their courtesy resignations.
âAs of now, wala pa po tayong natanggap but nagkaroon na po ng meeting at sinabi niya po talaga na magkakaroon ng pagbabago at maaaring may ma-retain, maaaring may mawala. So, hintayin po natin kung ano iyong magiging order ni Sec. Jay Ruiz,â Castro stated during a press briefing at the Palace. (ZIA LUNA)
