A Filipino was among the fatalities in the air collision that occurred in Washington, as reported by Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
In the meantime, U.S. officials have stated that the cause of the collision between a regional jet and a U.S. Army helicopter at a Washington airport remains unclear.
This tragic incident resulted in the deaths of 67 individuals, marking it as the most severe air disaster in the United States in over two decades.
Investigators have retrieved the black boxes from the aircraft, which was an American Airlines Bombardier jet carrying 60 passengers and four crew members.
The jet collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter and subsequently crashed into the Potomac River while attempting to land at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday evening.
There were no individuals who survived the incident.
Although the names of all the victims have not yet been disclosed, they included talented young figure skaters and residents from Kansas, the flight’s point of origin. (ZIA LUNA)
