By this time, and no thanks to the daily argle-bargle of the Sara Zimmerman Duterte Carpio camp and its troll army that conditions the minds of their listeners and leaders that truth is expendable and they should only believe what Sara tells them. This attitude harks back to Hannah Arendt’s thesis on totalitarianism, that fascists brainwash people not to believe objective reality and instead eat the guff of Sara. Arendt, a German philosopher of Jewish extraction, could not persuade her lover, fellow philosopher Martin Heidegger, to denounce Nazism
Sara Zimmerman Duterte Carpio is a demagogue in the tradition of Nazi demagoguery but her handlers, reputedly corpulent intellectuals and ex-Rasputins to a corrupt, unlamented regime, continue to brown nose her and lavish her with praise and other forms of irrationality. They should all be reminded of Winston Churchill’s counsel: “The difference between humans and animals is that animals never allow a fool to lead the pack.” Sara is one such fool for wasting four long years, most of the time overseas, in showing that she’s got what it takes to lead the pack.
Analysts blame not her mercurial style but a deeper problem of not understanding what her role as vice president really is. Her mood swings, her ignorance about issues that affect the country deeply, like Pax Silica and the so-called Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC), her irrational fear of crowds, her paranoia and her fear that the entire world is ganging on her all point to one thing: Her mental state disqualifies her from even becoming illegible to administer the bureaucracy and manage lives and future of 116-million Filipinos. Yet, she had the audacity to assail the Marcos Jr. administration for pushing the 2024 and 2025 national budgets that the Supreme Court (SC) said contained more than P400-billion in unprogrammed appropriations (UA) that the High Court ruled was unconstitutional. This is the same Sara who bragged that she never signed graft-ridden annual budgets. Sara apparently was ignorant of the fact that the vice president doesn’t sign the annual General Appropriations Act (GAA.)
The Greeks have a term for it: Peritrope, when the tables are turned and the accuser shoots his arrow back to his head. Sara possibly doesn’t find it cute that she must argue with clean hands, but all her 10 fingers drip with mud. Like Vivek Ramaswamy bashing Amy Acton with a $4-million ad using Acton’s mother to argue that she cannot be trusted. The issue boomeranged as Acton told the truth about her stepfather sexually abusing when she was 12 and her own mother didn’t lift a finger, and her claim was corroborated by her brother. By raking Acton over the coals, Ohio voters busted Ramaswamy for his cruelty and violating the rule about truth in advertising.
This is akin to the expose of Nobel laureate Alice Munro’s coddling of a sex predator who sexually abused her own daughter and arguing that the issue was between her daughter and her husband. Munro should also donate her Nobel medal to Donald Trump, who continues to complain that he should have won the Nobel peace prize for stopping fight fictitious wars. Remember that Sara herself claimed that she was also raped? After getting some ill-deserved headlines from media outlets that take whatever comes out of Sara’s mouth as gospel truth, the claim was never checked by journalists. Was it ever true? The terrible thing is that 90% of all valid rape cases are incestuous.
The work-shy Sara Zimmerman Duterte Carpio has shown she can make a mountain out of a molehill and her frequent attacks on Ferdinand Marcos Jr. are interpreted as attempts to rally people against her own president. Sara doesn’t smell like roses for firing missiles on her superior since her indolence is legendary. The Duterte work culture, from the patriarch Rodrigo to Sara, Pulong and Baste Duterte, means signing documents for two hours and then “patrolling” Davao City until the end of office hours. They are giving the Hell’s Angels competition for their big bike monitoring of their turfs. With their abbreviated working hours, the Dutertes have to delegate their duties and functions to their underlings, including signing business contracts that should be signed by the mayor, congressman, vice president and president.
Lawmakers claimed Sara is better known for her absence from her post and for undertaking regular excursions to any place in the country where there are voters. She enjoyed a special budget for her own cadre of urban poor leaders, with as many as 975,000 urban poor leaders forming her divisions of political hoplites. The budget for this naturally came from taxpayers, to the discomfiture of Metro Manila lawmakers, and to the disgruntlement of taxpayers.
In the end, Sara is fooling the Filipino people by claiming she has a franchise to the presidency and what her detractors are doing is to prevent her from meeting her date with destiny. It might as well be a political appointment with the angel of death in Samara. She has insisted there is no evidence against her but her public statements and negative pregnant disclosures only strengthen the impeachment case against her, particularly Article II. She claimed the 30 bank accounts in eight banks confirmed by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and bank officials are “fake” and that she had no role in opening or managing the accounts that bore her signature.#
