Akbayan Party-list Rep. Chel Diokno has asked the House Committee on Justice to take custody of detained witness Ramil Madriaga to ensure his security and testimony in the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Diokno also requested the issuance of subpoenas for key documents, including Duterte’s Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) and records that could indicate possible “unexplained wealth” or undeclared assets.
Among the requested materials are National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) reports on alleged threats made by the vice president against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The committee is expected to deliberate on these requests next week as it prepares for the evidentiary phase of the impeachment hearings. (RRN)
