Actress Yen Santos has finally put an end to one of showbiz’s longest-running and most bizarre rumors, no, she does not have a child with politician Chavit Singson. And yes, she’s tired of the viral TikTok speculation.
In her candid YouTube vlog titled “Questions I Am Desperate to Answer”, Yen faced the rumor head-on with her signature grace and a dose of heartfelt truth.
“’Yung tsismis na meron daw kaming anak ni Manong Chavit… Guys, hindi namin ‘yun anak, kapatid ko po ‘yun,” Yen said with emphasis, referring to her 11-year-old brother.
The actress clarified that Chavit is a longtime family friend and godfather to her sibling. But because of their close ties—and the internet’s wild imagination—rumors swirled for years, dating back to when Yen was just starting out in showbiz.
“Parang nag-uumpisa pa lang ako mag-artista, ‘yun agad ‘yung issue ko, e,” Yen confessed, saying she struggled with whether to defend herself or let it pass.
She admitted the rumor hurt her initially, especially because it misrepresented someone she dearly loves.
“Wala po kaming anak. Kapatid ko po siya, guys… I love him very much. ‘Yung kapatid ko, ha!”
With this bold confession, Yen didn’t just shut down fake news—she reminded fans and followers that celebrities are real people, too, with real families and real feelings. (ZIA LUNA)
