Vice President Sara Duterte failed to appear today in her second preliminary investigation at the Department of Justice on the cases filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding the threat to the lives of the President, the First Lady, and the House Speaker.
The complaints stemmed from the vice president’s public remarks, in which she allegedly threatened the lives of President Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez should anything unfortunate occur to her.
Her lawyers, Atty. Michael Poa and Atty. Paul Lim, clarified that her presence was not mandatory for this hearing, as only the NBI was required to submit a response.
This followed their submission of a counter-affidavit last week, enabling the Vice President to present her defense against the complaints filed against her.
As a result, only her legal counsel was present and participated in the second preliminary investigation at the DOJ. #
