Beginning Tuesday evening, certain roads in Manila will be closed in observance of the Chinese New Year festivities. According to an announcement from the Manila Police District-Public Information Office, the following routes will be inaccessible to vehicles starting at 9 p.m. on January 28:
– The section of Quintin Paredes from P. Burgos Avenue to Dasmarinas Street
– Jones Bridge
– Plaza Cervantes
– Binondo-Intramuros Bridge
Motorists traveling from Reina Regente Street who plan to use Juan Luna Street and head towards the southbound lane of Jones Bridge are advised to turn left onto Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz, then right onto Noberto Ty, followed by another right onto Yuchengco Street, and finally a left onto Ongpin Street to reach their destination.
Those approaching from P. Burgos Avenue or Taft Avenue who intend to access Jones Bridge should proceed directly to McArthur Bridge or Quezon Bridge to continue to their destination.
Vehicles coming from Plaza Sta. Cruz and using Dasmarinas Street should turn right onto Quintin Paredes Street to reach their destination.
Motorists departing from Magallanes Drive and heading to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge should continue straight to A. Soriano Avenue and then to Anda Circle to arrive at their destination. (ZIA LUNA)
