There can be no peace without justice – Casiño

Bayan Chairperson and former Bayan Muna Representative Teddy Casiño said that the upcoming ‘Rally for Peace’ organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo on January 13 at Quirino Grandstand in Manila is meant to shield Vice President  Sara Duterte from impeachment and former President Rodrigo Duterte from accountability for crimes against humanity.

He emphasized that genuine justice requires accountability, particularly for those who misuse their power and oppress the populace.

“The Iglesia ni Cristo has labeled their activity a “Rally for Peace.” But there can be no peace without justice. And true justice demands accountability, especially from those who abuse their power and oppress the people.”

Casiño reminded the public that the impeachment complaints against VP Sara and the investigations by Congress and the International Criminal Court (ICC) into former President Duterte are legitimate means to hold them accountable for their actions.

He insisted that these actions are not intended to incite chaos or destabilize the country; rather, they aim to protect the public from corruption, oppression, and impunity—factors that contribute to the absence of peace in the nation. (ZIA LUNA)
