The faux celebrities

When Carlos Yulo won two gold medals in the Paris Olympics, he became an instant celebrity.

His victory was not all a bed of roses. It was replete with controversy, the kind that no victorious guy would welcome.

Out of the blue, the public saw Carlos’ spat with his family as dirty linens were washed publicly.

Nagsalita ang ina niyang si Angelica and spewed some venom.  Carlos did the same.

And the teleserye-like drama saw the emergence of a contravida in the person of Chloe, Carlos’ girlfriend who seemingly enjoyed the spotlight.

For three weeks now, nagbatuhan ang magkabilang kampo ng masasakit na salita.  Tit for tat ang kanilang drama.

When Carlos’ dad Mark showed some resibo of his family’s spat with Chloe, Carlos’ girlfriend did the same.

Labasan ng resibo. Labasan ng baho.

In the process, these personalities have become celebrities, either by notoriety or sheer brazenness.

They traded barbs and their tirades became public knowledge.

What they have become, in the public eye, are lost souls na hindi magpapatalo sa isa’t isa.

In the aftermath of their very public scuffle, they unearthed, wittingly or unwittingly, what stuff they are made of.  They showed the true color of their skin.

While they have become celebrities, there’s no denying that they’re not worth emulating because of the way they showed in great abundance their real personas.

Carlos, in the public’s eye has become an ingrato who did not want to share his victory with his family.

Chloe, to the eyes of her bashers, has become a scheming girlfriend who does not want her boyfriend to return to her family.

Angelica has become, to the eyes of many, a mother wanting attention if not money.

It was only Mark who remained sane in this scenario as he pleaded his son to apologize to his mom and bury the hatchet.

But in all of these, there is one thing that is achieved by these “celebrities” – entertainment- which they genuinely played to the hilt.

Another case of LA Ocean Deep celebrities

There’s a very disturbing tale of pagkalaos in major Sparkle artists who were featured in a concert in the US recently.

If rumors were true, as spread by talent manager and vlogger Ogie Diaz in his YouTube vlog, Sparkle artist led by Alden Richards, Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz are no longer an attraction.

Their recent US show, as claimed by Ogie’s source, flopped big time.  Imagine, only 500 lang ang nanood.

What happened?  Was the show not promoted well?  Is Alden no longer an A-lister celebrity?

Should it be true na 500 lang ang nanood, it only shows na kumakaway na ang pagkalaos sa mga Sparkle major stars.
