House Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro expressed her approval following the arrest of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo in Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia. Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, was apprehended on September 4, 2024, according to reports from Senior Superintendent Audie Latuheru and confirmed by the Indonesian Police at Jatanras Mabes Polri.
“This arrest is a significant development in ensuring that justice prevails. Alice Guo must now face the charges against her. It is essential for her to confront these allegations to either clear her name or be held accountable,” stated Rep. France Castro.
Moreover, Rep. Castro highlighted the irony of Guo’s arrest happening abroad, hinting at the challenges within the local justice system.
“May mga biruan tuloy ngayon na buti at lumabas ng bansa si Guo kaya nahuli. Kasi malamamg kung hindi ay di pa sya nahuhuli tulad na lang nina Quiboloy at Bantag. Sayang talaga ang confidential and intelligence funds sana sa social services na lang nilagay,” said the Deputy Minority leader.
Rep. Castro reiterated the importance of transparency and accountability in governance and urged the authorities to ensure that justice is served swiftly and fairly.#
