Sunshine Cruz surprised her Instagram followers when she revealed that she is afflicted with an autoimmune disease called “myasthenia gravis.”
As reported by an entertainment website, “Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that causes muscle weakness, primarily affecting the voluntary muscles, including those controlling eye movement, facial expressions, swallowing, and breathing.”
On Instagram, Sunshine posted photos and videos of her previous and current catwalk moments with Bench.
“It’s been a real roller coaster these past months. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called myasthenia gravis which has made building muscle a real struggle,” she initially wrote.
Then, she expressed her gratitude to her coach for helping her navigate her journey during the recent Bench Body of Work fashion show.
“But I’m so thankful for the strength I’ve found. Thank you @coach.iya.💪🏻 Walking for Bench was a powerful reminder of what’s possible even when things are tough,” said.
In the end, she encouraged “all my fellow moms and Gen Xers” to “never give up on your dreams.”
