Stupid fanatics

In this country, it doesn’t pay to be a fanatic, more so the political ones.

Political leaders of the despotic type show no empathy even to their supporters whom they use during their prime.

Take the Filipinos who rallied in Qatar for the guy who was hauled off to jail in The Hague.

Were they given the necessary support even by the close family members of that despotic leader? No.

The PH Embassy in Doha provided them with legal and welfare assistance until they were released probationally pending investigation.

The jailed leader and his allies paid no attention to them.  From day one, the Pinoy rallyists were not given help of any kind.

This brings to mind the kind of leader these Pinoys were idolizing – heartless and ruthless.

Fanatics are always blinded by adoration.  They are bereft of sanity.

Why idolize someone who feels that addicts don’t deserve to live in this world?

Why not idolize leaders who effect positive change in the country?  Although they’re just a handful, it does make sense that you believe that good leaders are not of the killing kind.

It’s a pity that there are still Filipinos who believe that the leader they collectively adore is beyond culpability.  They believe that their idol has not done any wrongdoings.

And what do they get?

Nothing.  Nada.

They were made to pay for their collective shenanigans.  They were not given help, big or small, by the very one they defended.  Not even the family members ever lifted a finger to their plight after they were arrested.

Politics is all drama in this country, where leaders make empty promises most if not all of the time.

Yet, fanatics buy these empty promises, not realizing that they are being played at.

Fanatics don’t have sense of discernment.  If they did, they would not have idolized leaders who not only feigned bravery but also believed that they were gods.
