The State Funeral necrological services for National Artist Ms. Nora Aunor will take place on Tuesday, April 22, at 8:30 AM at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.
Public registration for the event will open at 2 PM today, April 21, via the official Facebook pages of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). Seats for the event are limited. For those unable to enter the venue, a screen will be set up outside the theater to accommodate them.
The CCP, which usually hosts such events for deceased National Artists, remains closed for renovation. As a result, the venue for the necrological services will be the Metropolitan Theater, owned by the NCCA.
Among the speakers at the service will be Nora Aunor’s son, Ian De Leon, representing the family, along with National Artist Ricky Lee, Charo Santos-Concio, and Director Joel Lamangan.
Following the two-hour program at the Metropolitan Theater, Ms. Nora Aunor’s remains will be transported to the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetery) in Taguig for her final resting place. #
