A full-blown Senate showdown is brewing as Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and Sen. Ping Lacson publicly rebuke Sen. Rodante Marcoleta over his handling of the flood control project investigation.
Pangilinan accused Marcoleta of spreading false claims and lacking research, clarifying that the proposal for an independent commission came from Sen. Tito Sotto, not him.
“Galingan na lang niya ang pag-iimbestiga,” Pangilinan fired back, after Marcoleta claimed he felt insulted by the push for an independent probe.
Lacson also entered the fray, rejecting Marcoleta’s accusation of being “epal” and warning, “Kung aawayin niya kami, aawayin ko rin siya!”
The controversy deepens as Sen. Erwin Tulfo backs the independent commission, saying public trust will erode if Congress leads the probe—especially with lawmakers allegedly linked to the anomaly.
With egos clashing and credibility on the line, the Senate’s flood control investigation is turning into a political battlefield. (RRN)
