Sara Zimmerman Duterte Carpio is surely a spawn of the unlamented detained ex-president Rodrigo Duterte, one who is obsessed with dishing it out on critics while acting worse than a raging bull when told that it was his duty to ensure that the human rights of the people of Davao City should be respected and the perpetrators of hundreds of killings in his turf are arrested, prosecuted and convicted.
First to suffer from Rodrigo’s vendetta was then Commission on Human Rights (CHR) chairwoman Leila de Lima, who reminded Duterte that the killings of the Davao Death Squad (DDS) should be investigated. This was enough to fuel Rodrigo’s rage and plot the downfall of de Lima at a time when he was supposed to be Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s anti-crime czar, which is akin to giving the fox the carte-blanche to protect the henhouse. Or distributing armored personnel carriers (APCs) to Maguindanao warlords for their private armies to perform the role of force multipliers to the military.
Lately, Sara proved she could be as terrible as her biological farther after she took offense at the remark of Press Undersecretary Claire Castro that Sara’s visage changes when she is mad, like Chucky. This is a normal comment since people’s faces really change when they are angry, happy, demented or simply insane. Yet, Sara demanded that Castro be disbarred, raising the issue, if it ever qualifies as one, as a matter to be adjudicated as a gross violation of the Canon of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA) that covers the conduct of all Filipino lawyers.
Sara is also a lawyer but her call for Castro to be sanctioned for issuing a fair comment stretches the bounds of credulity. There are no lese majeste laws in the Philippines that apply to monarchs and the princess of San Pedro, Davao City, cannot invoke the Chucky statement as an insult that sullied her kalopsia. Castro’s rebuttal to Sara’s tirade was a fusillade, not including the fact that mauling a court sheriff in her own turf for following a judge’s order is a ground for disbarment. What are the other justifications for disbarment? Contracting an assassin to murder the President and his wife, along with former Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, is one, never mind if Sara argues that she was only making a conditional threat that becomes operational in the event she dies. In another instance, she spoke of beheading the President over a non-issue, which sent the tongues of wags wagging that Sara needs professional help. Moreover, failure to produce billions of pesos in disallowed expenditures at both the DepEd and OVP are not only grounds for disbarment but also impeachment and perpetual ban from any elective or appointive position in government.
But wait, those with a contorted sense of beauty and reality cannot abseil from the promontory of hate to cadge their pound of flesh from a tribunal that abjures frivolous complaints, unlike the Rodrigo Duterte regime that gave credence to bogus evidence and fabricated charges of drug trafficking and extortion, very much like the ones slapped on de Lima. Rodrigo looked as terrifying as Chucky when he announced that Manila Bay’s waters would turn with the blood of drug kingpins and criminals, only for him to protect the foreign plunderers that amassed billions from the Pharmally scam.
Being of Jewish extraction, Sara must have been initiated into a gothic world that condemns any criticism of the Israeli government and Zionism is ipso facto anti-semitism, a confusing linguistic construct since Jews, Arabs, Palestinians and even the Phoenicians are all Semites. Yet, the Jews divide the world into two—the Jews as the chosen people and everyone else as goyim, or Gentiles. Placed under that context, there is this false argument that they can do no wrong. Thus, Sara is lily-white, and spending P112.5-million in confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) in the 11 dying days of 2022 was not wrong, even if she could not produce evidence that the hundreds of snitches named Mary Grace Piattos, et. al., really exist.
In fact, when it became clear that the Office of the Ombudsman would investigate her, Sara quickly remembered that the money was disbursed to protect elementary school pupils and high school students from recruitment by the New People’s Army (NPA.) How could anyone trust Sara who is afflicted with recurrent amnesia and could not defend her budget at the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Office of the Vice President (OVP), much less clarify how P500-million from her budget evaporated. How could the Filipino electorate trust her in leading a country that has been punished with neck-deep corruption when she herself cannot controvert loads of evidence about her financial mismanagement?
It is the sovereign people that should put Sara to the most searing indictment against overweening political ambition, a woman in absolute haste that she wanted to take over Malacanang in 2023? Now, Sara as Chucky, is consumed by the thinking that she is the Chosen One, destined to rule the land from the rivers, lakes to the deep blue sea, save for the maritime expanse that the Dutertes have reserved for Chinese dominion. A vote for her is a vote for the Duterte illusion foisted on the country from 2016 to 2022, when the national debt doubled, trillions were lost conveniently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 30,000 were killed in a false anti-drug war and the number of drug dependents increased. Chucky Jr. has not been charged with plunder because someone wanted her out of the 2028 presidential race; she is being sued to render justice to an oppressed, hoodwinked and exploited population. Justice cannot wait forever.
