Ex- Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla becomes the inaugural big-name inmate of Payatas’ new QC jail as his corruption case proceeds at the Sandiganbayan.
The anti-graft court’s Special Third Division ordered Revilla’s detention over a malversation case tied to a ₱92.8‑million ghost flood control project in Bulacan.
Revilla surrendered to police at Camp Crame Monday night after a warrant of arrest and hold departure order were issued against him and six co-accused.
He posted ₱90,000 bail for a related graft case but remains in custody while the court hears his motion to be transferred to the PNP Custodial Center.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government said Revilla will not receive special treatment.
Revilla was previously jailed in 2014 for plunder in the PDAF scam but later acquitted, though ordered to return ₱124.5 million to the treasury. (ZIA LUNA)
