When TV host Robi Domingo made a comment during the launch of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Gen 11, he unwittingly placed himself in a controversy.
The mediacon for PBB’s host featured Robi along with Melai Cantiveros, Bianca Gonzales, Enchong Dee, and Alexa Ilacad.
As the topic of fake PBB auditions were discussed, Robi explained that auditions for the network’s shows are always free
“Maliban sa paggamit ng platform para makatulong, I guess constant reminder to everyone lang na hindi po nagpapabayad ‘yong ABS-CBN when it comes to auditions,” he said.
When Bianca Gonzalez made a suggestion to verify information first from official accounts just to avoid falling victims to scams, Robi butted in and said, “Saka, ano, check ‘yong television sets. Kasi kahit anong mangyari, may ABS-CBN pa rin.”
That seemingly innocent reply can be a potential controversy. It could mean that he’s taking a swipe at Dennis Trillo who unwittingly found himself embroiled in a controversy over his “May ABS-CBN pa ba?” reply to a fan who asked why his partner Jennylyn Mercado was not included in the GMA STATION ID.
“Wala po akong pinaparinggan, sinasagot ko lang po ‘yong tanong,” Robi said later when told that it might be construed as a swipe at Dennis.
Anyway, Dennis’ management explained that the actor’s Tiktok account was hacked and it was not him who answered sarcastically when queried by fans. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
