Pastor Apollo Quiboloy had instructed the killing of his “apostate and sinful” followers, a member of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KoJC) group Angels of Death said on Wednesday, October 23.

During a hearing by the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, Edward Ablaza Masayon admitted that he is a member of SMNI’s 2nd Metro Davao Signal Battalion, which is said to be connected to Task Force Davao.

Masayon said that its members come from the Philippine Army Affiliated Reserve Unit (PAARU) and the 11th Regional Community Defense Group, which is the reserve command of the Philippine Army.

He stated that this private army was formed to pursue those opposing Quiboloy. You would become a member of this squad once your loyalty to the kingdom is proven.

Masayon cited an incident where he was with a member of the Angels of Death, Simon Tagnipis, at the KOJC security compound. Tagnipis was allegedly ordered by Quiboloy to kill Domeng Jaruk, the Datu of Sitio Kahusayan in Davao City, because Jaruk refused to sell his land to the leader of the religious group.

Eventually, Tagnipis left KOJC and was later reported to have been killed.

Masayon added that the members of the Angels of Death would not kill without an order from Quiboloy.

(TCSP)
