PSA finds no records of Kokoy Villamin, too

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has confirmed that they have no record of a person named “Kokoy Villamin,” contrary to claims allegedly made by some personnel of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

In an interview with Teleradyo Serbisyo on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, PSA Assistant National Statistician Marizza Grande stated that they found no record of Kokoy Villamin and that the name yielded negative results in their verification system.

“Tininginan po namin, naghintay po kami ng request dito. But wala po kaming nakitang record din pertaining to that person, negative po yun sa verification namin,” Grande said.

The name “Kokoy Villamin” surfaced in some alleged receipts from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) from 2022 and 2023, which were questioned by the House of Representatives during hearings regarding the allegedly questionable use of the office’s confidential funds under Vice President Sara Duterte.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, December 3, the PSA also clarified and confirmed that there are no records to verify the existence of “Mary Grace Piattos,” another individual reportedly involved in transactions linked to the OVP’s confidential funds.

According to a letter sent by National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Claire Dennis Mapa to House panel chairperson Rep. Joel Chua, the PSA’s database contains no certificate of live birth (COLB), certificate of marriage (COM), or certificate of death (COD) for a person named Mary Grace Piattos.

Some lawmakers earlier announced that they are prepared to offer ₱1 million to anyone who can provide information about the identity and whereabouts of Piattos. (TCSP)
