The Gabriela Women’s Party has strongly criticized the reported use of a public school in Davao City for the campaign of imprisoned Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, who is facing serious allegations of child sex trafficking.
Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas stated that utilizing a school stage for the campaign of someone accused of abusing women and children sends a troubling message.
Brosas pointed to a recent event at the Jose T. Quiboloy Sr. National High School, where various city government projects were launched with representatives of Quiboloy present.
She urged for an immediate investigation into Quiboloy’s alleged campaign activities while in detention.
She called on the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to investigate possible violations of election law, as this is not the first time—most recently, a video of Quiboloy from jail was shown at a campaign rally without court permission.
She said these repeated violations should be grounds for his disqualification. (ZIA LUNA)
