PNP boosts police morale with ‘Pamilya ng Pulis’ family day

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil led the first “Pamilya ng Pulis” family day aimed at strengthening the morale of the police workforce and their families.

Due to the high-stress nature of law enforcement work, Marbil underscored the importance of providing support for the well-being of police officers, which is essential to upholding improved service to Filipino communities.

“The ‘Pamilya ng Pulis, Family Day’ is a testament to our commitment to uplift the well-being of our personnel and their loved ones. Kung happy po ang pamilya natin, happy din ang serbisyo natin (If our family is happy, we will also give delightful service),” he added.

A total of 1,500 officers and dependents from the PNP Directorial Staff and National Support Unit Crame-based offices were able to join the collective Police Community Relations (PCR) event, bringing about enhanced camaraderie and strengthened support networks.

Aside from engaging activities, the participants of the ‘Pamilya ng Pulis’ family day were also given access to various essential government services, such as livelihood and skills training registration and job application, through social services booths.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Quezon City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) collaborated to make this initiative possible.

CPNP Marbil, meanwhile, encouraged police officers to continue their dedicated service to the country with their families as inspiration.

“Sa ating lahat, ipagpatuloy natin ang ating pagseserbisyo nang buong puso at may dedikasyon. Lagi nating tandaan na ang ating mga pamilya ay laging naririyan upang sumuporta at magbigay-lakas sa atin. Sama-sama nating harapin ang anumang pagsubok at patuloy na maglingkod nang buong tapat at may integridad,” Marbil remarked.

(To each and everyone of us, let us continue to serve wholeheartedly and with dedication. Let us always be reminded that our family will be there at all times to give us support and strength. Let us collectively face each challenge and continue to deliver a service that is built on honesty and integrity.)

CPNP PGen Rommel Francisco D. Marbil assumed the leadership of the national police on April 1, 2024. He is the 30th Chief of the PNP.

One of the priority thrusts of Marbil is the inclusion of PNP dependents in the community relations programs of the national law enforcement body. This forms part of the PNP’s broader efforts to cater to the welfare of the families of police officers in recognition of the vital role they play in the motivation and resilience of the country’s front line of defense.
