AFTER securing a new search warrant, operatives under the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) returned to Porac, Pampanga to resume its operation on the same Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub where some 158 foreigners were rescued.
“Kagabi kasi walang ilaw eh, kaya nag decide na lang kami to resume today,” according to PAOCC executive director Usec. Gilbert Cruz, who expressed hope to rescue more kidnap victims.
âYun ang iniisip namin⌠meron pang kailangang ma-rescue, kasi nung unang araw na ire-raid yan, nagtakbuhan, so yung mga naka posas o parang bihag nila, iniwan na nila,” Cruz averred.
“So yun po ang hinahanap namin ngayon,” he added.
The PAOCC chief earlier claimed that they saw evidence of torture after they were able to rescue injured foreigners, including a badly wounded Chinese national who was handcuffed to a bed frame, inside the compound.
He also told reporters that they also received a report about a woman who was tortured and sold through online bidding for sexual services inside the compound.
PAOCC, which was expecting to arrest around a thousand people, ended up rescuing 158 persons, mostly Chinese nationals, in what they claimed could have been a case of leakage of information on the issued warrant or the arrival of the operatives.
As this developed, Cruz vowed to dig deeper and identify the people behind the dubious POGO operation.
“Kunin namin yung mga dapat kunin, then magkakaroon kami ng document examination then dun natin malalaman kung sino mga may-ari at sino mga incorporators,” Cruz quipped. (ANGEL F. JOSE)
