Mayor Enrico Roque of Pandi, Bulacan, along with two others, including a municipal councilor, was apprehended on charges of rape on Tuesday, December 17, 2024,
The arrests occurred at approximately 1 p.m. at a waterpark in Pandi, Bulacan.
All three suspects are facing two counts of non-bailable rape charges and are currently held at the Northern Police District Custodial Facility.
According to an affidavit, a woman has accused the suspects of sexually assaulting her in Caloocan on April 6, 2019, as stated by PLtCol. Alain Licdan, chief of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit (DSOU).
The accused has submitted a motion to dismiss the arrest warrant and the charges, claiming that the allegations are fabricated and politically motivated.
In addition to his role as mayor, Roque is also a film producer, with his company, CineKo Productions, having produced the films “Family Matters” (2022) and “Family of Two” (2023). (ZIA LUNA)
