WEEKS after the Philippine National Police (PNP) boasted of low crime incidents, three persons were found dead – and decomposing, inside a residential unit in Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos in Las Piñas City.
Police investigators said that the gruesome crime was discovered after neighbors sought help from the barangay authorities regarding a foul smell coming from the room of the house.
Upon inspection, the barangay personnel saw three dead persons – two females and a male – all lying on the bed.
According to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), a suspect was arrested in a follow-up operation. Cops however neither disclosed the identity of the supposed assailant nor the basis for them to believe that they got the right person.
He is currently detained at the Las Piñas City Police Station pending the filing of murder charges before the Pas Piñas Prosecutor’s Office.
Among the angles being pursued by the local police is crime of passion as the suspect, according to the officer-on-case, is the live-in partner of one of the two female casualties.
Recovered from the scene of the crime is a 20-inch piece of wood believed to have been used in the gruesome crime.
A relative of one of the victims said that the three fatalities were last seen alive last Wednesday. (ANGEL F.
