THE continuing saga involving the embattled Bamban Mayor Alice Guo has gone beyond the illegal operation of the offshore gaming operation in Tarlac as the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) are inclined to believe that the busted POGO hub in Parañaque City could have been operated by the same group.

This comes as Senator Sherwin Gatchalian cited the need to expand the congressional inquiry – this time involving Pagcor which cited unusual similarities discovered by authorities behind the arrest of 10 Chinese nationals in a recent raid inside the Multinational Village in Parañaque City.

“Itong mga sindikato umiikot lang sila,” Gatchalian said in reference to the raid inside the Multinational Village on May 2 over complaints from homeowners who cited the need for strict measures amid the rapidly rising number of Chinese nationals living inside the residential subdivision.

“When we saw Bamban, the structures were so similar… the process of applying for stickers, IDs, and also constructions. Some are already using local identification, passports, birth certificates, driver’s license, postal ID and all these things. They can’t even speak Tagalog,” an unnamed homeowner said in an interview aired on GMA News.

“I saw one young teenager, a girl, who jumped from the 3rd floor going down na parang tumatakas. I reported that to our security. They went to the house. I don’t know what happened. She was limping, going away pero hinabol siya ng mga Chinese and our security people,” another homeowner said.

Guo is currently facing multiple investigations over suspected links with illegal POGO firms, questionable identity, money laundering among many other issues surrounding her position as mayor of Bamban. (ANGEL F. JOSE)
