The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Masbate 1st District Engineering Office has moved operations from its old office building in Barangay Bayanihan to its newly-completed office facility in Barangay Minio in San Fernando, Masbate.
DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the new office building of DPWH Masbate 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) was formally opened after a recent ceremonial inauguration attended by DPWH Undersecretaries Roberto R. Bernardo and Carlos G. Mutuc; Assistant Secretary Nerie D. Bueno; and local officials of Masbate.
“This new permanent office facility for the DPWH Masbate 1st District is a significant space improvement coming from their first office at the ground floor of a residential house in front of San Jacinto Municipal Hall, which was then transferred to their second office building with a makeshift extension in Barangay Lipata, and another small office in Barangay Bayanihan,” said Director Eduarte.
“A bigger office building, complete with amenities, is now able to provide a conducive working environment for personnel and supervisors of the District, while housing the heavy equipment assets for maintenance of national road network in the area,” added Director Eduarte.
Costing P175.6 million, the new DPWH Masbate 1st District office building project was implemented in five (5) phases since 2021. (ANTONIO)
