Former actress and entrepreneur Neri Naig finally spoke about her arrest.
In an emotional Instagram post on Friday, March 21, Neri could not believe she will be on the most wanted list.
“Hindi ko talaga inakala na mapapasama ako sa Most Wanted sa Pilipinas,” she initially lamented. Recall that she was arrested in November last year by the Southern Police District.
She recalled she was called names even though she never hid.
“Tinawag akong magnanakaw, manloloko, at scammer. Never naman akong nagtago. Palagi nga akong nasa palengke, sa mga talks, at kahit saan pa—I have always been visible, hindi lang sa social media,” she said.
Neri promised to tell all that transpired – from her arrest to her detention – in due time.
“For now, let me just say this: It was a nightmare. Isang pagsubok at bangungot na hindi ko kailanman malilimutan. Sa kabila ng lahat—the labels, the ridicule, the judgment… I chose silence,” she explained.
While she was incarcerated, “some celebrated my lowest point, ginawa pa akong content para pagkakitaan.”
“They judged me, questioned me, and discredited my hard work,” she lamented.
But despite all these, she was thankful to those who supported her all the way.
“Sa lahat ng naniwala, sumuporta, at nagdasal para sa amin, maraming, maraming salamat po! To those who felt even the smallest impact of our kindness, thank you. You remind me that goodness still exists in the world,” she finally said.
Neri was arrested for allegations of syndicated estafa and violations of the Securities Regulation Code which resulted in her being detained at the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory.
Neri’s cases were dismissed on February 12 after the Pasay City prosecutors found no probable cause againt the wife of Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
