NBI files 16 cases vs. Tony Yang

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has lodged 16 criminal complaints against Yang Jianxin, the sibling of former economic adviser Michael Yang.

As reported by the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, Yang Jianxin, also known as Antonio Lim y Maestrado, Antonio M. Lim, Tony Lim, or Tony Yang, is charged with falsification, perjury, and violations of Commonwealth Act 142, also referred to as the Anti-Alisa Law.

The complaints were submitted to the Office of the City Prosecutor in Cagayan de Oro on October 17, 2024.

Yang Jianxin was apprehended by the Bureau of Immigration on 24 September 2024 and subsequently presented to the Senate and House of Representatives during an inquiry into human trafficking and the operations of illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

The IACAT has indicated that the 16 complaints will undergo a preliminary investigation, and they anticipate that additional complaints will be filed soon. (ZIA LUNA)
