Movie Queen Gloria Romero has passed away today, January 25.
In a Facebook post, actress Lovely Rivero posted a message about the veteran actress’ death.
“Rest well, our Movie Queen, Tita GLORIA ROMERO.
“Praying for the repose of your soul & for strength for Maritess Gutierrez, Chris & the whole family during this very difficult time,” came Lovely’s post.
There was no announcement yet about the reason for the veteran actress’ demise.
Born Gloria Anne Borrego Galla, Gloria just celebrated her 91st birthday lady December 16. She was married to actor Juancho Gutiérrez and they had a daughter, former actress and now chef Maritess Gutierrez who has a son, Chris Gutierrez.
Among Gloria’s best performances was Dalagang Ilocana whete she won her first FAMAS Award for Best Actress. She was also noticed in the films like Alaalang Banal (1958), Ikaw Ang Aking Buhay (1959), Iginuhit ng Tadhana (1965)Condemned (1984), Saan Nagtatago ang Pag-ibig? (1987), Nagbabagang Luha (1988) and Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit (1989).
Her other most notable films were Tanging Yaman (2000), Bahay ni Lola (2001), Magnifico (2003), Beautiful Life (2004) and Fuchsia (2009), including Tarima (2010) and Rainbow’s Sunset (2018).
