McLisse No More: Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon Confirm Split

It’s the end of an era for one of showbiz’s most beloved couples. Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon, known to fans as “McLisse,” have officially confirmed their breakup in a deeply emotional joint Instagram post that tugged at the hearts of many.

The post, which featured intimate video snippets of their family life, marked the closing of a chapter that began in 2016 when the two first met inside the Pinoy Big Brother house. Their chemistry quickly blossomed into a real-life romance, leading to several on-screen projects and the birth of their daughter, Felize, in 2021.

“We both held on for as long as we could,” the couple wrote, reflecting on their more than five years together. They described their journey as one shaped by a shared dream of building a home and a family — a dream they clung to through ups and downs.

Despite their efforts to stay together, Elisse and McCoy said they are now choosing to let go, not out of failure, but to make space for healing and growth. “Letting go doesn’t mean we failed. Because what we had was real. And it gave us the greatest gift… Our Felize,” they shared.

The couple emphasized that their daughter remains the center of their world. “There are moments when she wraps her arms around us and says, ‘My family belongs to me.’ And she will always be right,” they wrote, assuring fans that their commitment to Felize remains unwavering.

In a plea for understanding, the Kapamilya stars asked the public to refrain from speculations and respect their decision. “This wasn’t easy for either of us,” they said. “We simply ask for kindness… as this story may one day shape what our daughter believes about love, family, and letting go.”

The breakup marks the third time the couple has parted ways, following previous splits in 2018 and 2023. Each time, they found their way back to each other, until now.

As they step into separate paths, Elisse and McCoy closed their statement with gratitude: “Thank you for holding space for our story. This is us, stepping into a new chapter with love, respect, and no regrets.”

For fans of McLisse, it’s a bittersweet farewell to a love story that once brought hope, joy, and a glimpse of real-life romance into the spotlight.  (ZIA LUNA)
