Marcus Adoro, the lead guitarist of the Eraserheads, will not participate in the band’s upcoming events following new rape allegations that emerged on social media.

A Reddit user, @NMomThrowaway12345, accused Adoro of raping her during high school, titling her post “the beloved Marcus Adoro of the Eraserheads raped me when I was in high school.”

In her account, she claimed that Adoro told her she was “lucky” because he didn’t “go all the way” and mentioned that he had assaulted other individuals as well.

Additionally, she criticized the Eraserheads and Diane Ventura, the director of a documentary about the band and ex-wife of lead vocalist Ely Buendia, for allegedly helping Adoro erase his troubling past for profit.

She expressed disappointment in Buendia, Buddy Zabala, and Raimund Marasigan for lacking principles, despite their previous statements against abuse, suggesting that their actions were motivated by financial gain.

In response to the allegations, Buendia stated, “We acknowledge the recent allegations that have surfaced online. As advocates for justice, we firmly condemn all criminal acts and stand against any form of abuse. Above all, we seek the truth.”

He added that while Adoro addresses the situation, he will be stepping back from upcoming projects.

Although Buendia did not specify which activities would exclude Adoro, he emphasized that the band would proceed with “humility and deep respect” for the truth.

As of now, Adoro has not publicly responded to the rape allegations. (ZIA LUNA)
