Marcos to fight back vs. Duterte’s assassination threat

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Monday, November 25, that he would fight back against the assassination threat made by Vice President Sara Duterte against him and his family.

The Chief Executive slammed Duterte days after she ordered the assassination of Marcos, his wife First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the event of her death.

Duterte’s comments over the weekend came amid a House panel investigation into the alleged irregularities in the budgets of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) during her tenure.

In a video message posted on Facebook, Marcos described the threat as “disturbing” and “unacceptable,” asserting that such reckless talk should not be tolerated in a democratic country.

Marcos likewise underscored that these kinds of threats should never be taken lightly and must not be overlooked.

Yan ay aking papalagan,” Marcos said, adding that no one is above the law, regardless of their position.

Marcos also reiterated his commitment to uphold the rule of law and stressed the responsibility of all government officials to protect the Constitution and the laws of the country.

In the same video statement, Marcos suggested that the government’s focus should be on addressing the country’s pressing issues, including poverty and inflation, rather than engaging in political drama. (TCSP)
