The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will discuss the petition from transport groups to increase the minimum fare for jeepneys to P15 on Wednesday, February 19.
LTFRB Technical Division Head Joel Bolanos indicated that this petition has been pending since 2023.
During this period, the Board also approved a provisional fare increase.
The LTFRB previously stated on January 21 that they were reviewing the fare hike petition submitted by transport groups.
They assured that their study would be balanced, taking into account the impact on passengers as well.
Public hearings will also be conducted regarding this matter. (ZIA LUNA)
